In October 2020, I teamed up with Church of Pettersson, a Vancouver Canucks superfan, to design a birthday card and this season’s Christmas card, with all the proceeds going to the Canucks Autism Network. I had a blast working on this project for a good cause!
The Process
The birthday card is inspired by Pettersson's “I was five years old and had a Vancouver T-shirt … Google it” moment in Ottawa after his first hat trick.
Instead of the initial realistic look, we decided to go for a more cartoony look.
For the "Peteymas" card, I presented several background colours, fonts, and graphic elements options to choose from. In the end, we went for the green background and the scootering graphics.
The Support
It warms my heart every single time people posting their Peteymas cards on social media! It's an amazing feeling to see your design in print. Along with other Church of Pettersson merch, we have raised $680 for the Canucks Autism Network up until 2020 Christmas.
