The Project

People may be familiar with the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in their encounters with the preference engines that select online music, videos or shopping, but the use of AI as an essential tool in a wide range of creative processes is often invisible.
This interactive installation at the Vancouver Art Gallery serves as an introduction to the exhibition The Imitation Game. It invites the visitors to explore the range of images, objects and ideas that shape the exhibition.
The visitors can start the exploration by using a basic form of AI that combines computer vision, machine learning and neural networks that analyze your hand gestures in real-time and trigger an appropriate response to the interaction. The images and information on the wall are addressed in greater depth throughout the exhibition.
