In 2017 I travelled around British Columbia and had roughly 80 dives in the cold Pacific Northwest water. Here is my showcase of the beautiful BC underwater world.

The Adventures
Pavilion Lake
Apart from its crystal clear water and lush underwater meadows, Pavilion Lake is best known for its freshwater microbialites, a type of stromatolite representing some of the earliest life forms on earth. It has become a part of NASA's xenobiology research for searching for potential life on other planets.
This is the very first trip I organized and planned at UBC Aqua Society. From finding a reservable campground near Pavilion Lake, the campfire ban five hours before our trip, to Cache Creek wildfire 1 hour drive away from our camp site... I'm glad all of these ended up smoothly and hope everyone had a good time.
Powell River Camping & Diving
Second diving trip I planned at UBC Aqua Society. Powell River is famous for its "Mermaid". She was lowered into the waters in Saltery Bay Provincial Park on March 16th, 1989. Giant plumose anemone as crown and leather star as hairpin, she is a super phtogenic Emerald Princess!
bamfield
Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre (BMSC) is a world-class teaching and research facility located on the outer west coast of Vancouver Island. With many of the Aqua Soc dive instructors's field trip and researching experience at BMSC, we were lucky to spend a long weekend at the facility and explore the unreal diversity in Barkley Sound.
Cates Park Clean Up
The event was organized by Vancouver Diving Locker. We retrieved 235.7kg of marine debris outside of water.
Pumpkin Carving Club Dive
A fun tradition at UBC Aqua Society for Halloween weekend.
